Adam Lisser Visits Elected Officials

2013 Feb 28

Several Herkimer County Community College students recently accompanied President Ann Marie Murray and Dean of Students Matthew Hawes to visit elected officials locally in their offices. Students had the opportunity to discuss what the College means to them, how they appreciate the support of the officials and to share their career plans.

Meeting with Assemblyman Marc Butler and Congressman Richard Hanna was freshman Adam Lisser of Rome majoring in Criminal Justice: Cybersecurity.

Dr. Murray said, "This semester, we have been lobbying for restoration of state aid for community colleges. Visiting elected officials, our students have done an outstanding job representing themselves and our College. The officials have enjoyed hearing their stories and learning of their career dreams. The students were able to thank the officials for their advocacy and experience first-hand what our representatives do for our College. It was a wonderful opportunity for all involved."
