Anthony DeLuca of Frankfort participated in Region III Bowling Championships

Herkimer County Community College student Anthony DeLuca of Frankfort, participated in the Region III Bowling Championships at Mohawk Valley Community College.

Sophomore Sarah Foley of Rome paired up with defending national champion Sara Edenhofer of Hilton, making a formidable duo with an impressive score of 1,910 pins over four games. In the Singles competition, they finished first and second with Foley scoring 906 and Edenhofer 854.

Foley was the All-Events Regional Champion, earning her Tournament MVP, Region III Player of the Year and a spot on the All-Region Team.

Edenhofer finished second in All-Events and was also named to the All-Region Team. During team competition, the Lady Generals finished fourth out of six schools, with a pin total of 8327.

On the men's side, Herkimer finished eighth out of nine schools with a pin total of 7908. Sophomore Tony DeLuca of Frankfort finished 22nd overall with a pin count of 1522.

Herkimer County Community College is a unit of the State University of New York, located in Herkimer, NY about 20 miles east of Utica, NY. With an enrollment of approximately 3,600 students, Herkimer offers more than 40 associate degree and certificate programs, on-campus housing, an active co-curricular activities schedule and a national championship athletic program. Herkimer is a Division III member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and has amassed 36 national, 90 regional and 133 conference championships. Herkimer placed third in the 2011-12 National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Cup competition.
