Heather Vroman Named to Green and Gold Club

Cross country runner Heather Vroman of Utica has been named to Herkimer County Community College's Green and Gold Club for September. Vroman won the Bridgman Invitational at Finger Lakes Community College with a time of 21 minutes, 4 seconds. She also finished first in the 18-24 year old female group at the 14k Falling Leaves Road Race with a time of 1 hour, 3 minutes. "Heather has been recognized as a top contender for the National Championships. She works hard and has the athletic potential to finish the season on top. It's exciting to see her drive and determination and we hope that it pays off at Regionals and Nationals," said Coach Julie DelMedico. Vroman is a Liberal Arts and Sciences: Science major.

HCCC's Green and Gold Club honors an outstanding male and female athlete each month.

Herkimer County Community College is a unit of the State University of New York, located in Herkimer, NY about 20 miles east of Utica, NY. With an enrollment of approximately 3,600 students, Herkimer offers more than 40 associate degree and certificate programs, on-campus housing, an active co-curricular activities schedule and a national championship athletic program. Herkimer is a Division III member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and has amassed 35 national, 89 regional and 131 conference championships. Herkimer placed third in the 2011-12 National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Cup competition.
