Herkimer County Community College Diver Ross Places Fourth at Nationals

Herkimer County Community College's Women's Swimming & Diving Team competed in the NJCAA national championship meet recently at Indian River State College, Ft. Pierce, Florida.

Freshman Sylvia Ross, majoring in Business: Accounting from Hollant Patent finished fourth on both one-meter and three-meter board. She also set a new school record in the one-meter event, with a score of 337.15. This also broke the Mountain Valley Conference record she held previously. Coach Vicki Brown said, "Sylvia is a talented diver with incredible confidence on the board. I am so proud of her and her accomplishments. This is the highest place a Herkimer swimmer or diver has ever earned at a national meet."

The team finished in 11th place with a point total of 211. This is the most points a Herkimer swimming & diving team has ever earned at Nationals.
