Herkimer County Community College Swimmer Emily Washburn Named to the 2nd Team All-Region

Emily Washburn, majoring in Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies from Forestport was named 2nd Team All-Region in 100 yard backstroke. She broke her own previous school record in the 100 backstroke this year. Washburn also set records in the 500 freestyle, 100 butterfly and 200 backstroke this year. Last year, Washburn set school records in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle; 200 individual medley; 200, 400 and 800 freestyle relay; and 200, 400 medley relay. She also holds six Mountain Valley Conference records.

Washburn is headed to the NJCAA Swimming & Diving Championships at Indian River State College in Ft. Pierce, Florida March 7-10.
