Reco McLaren Earns Honors for Men's Soccer at Herkimer County Community College

Reco McLaren of Bridgeport, CT is a member of the 2011 national championship men's soccer team at Herkimer County Community College. McLaren was honored with the following awards: All-Tournament team, Tournament MVP, Region III Player of the Year for Division III and Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year, All Region first team and All-Conference team

The Herkimer Generals men's soccer team won the program's eighth Division III National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) championship on Sunday, November 13 with a 4-1 win against No. 1 ranked Genesee Community College. HCCC hosted the national tournament at Wehrum Stadium where the Generals outplayed Bergen Community College of New Jersey 5-2 in the quarterfinals, and won over Long Island's Nassau Community College 5-0 in the semifinals. The team also won the program's 22nd consecutive Region III championship October 29 at Tompkins-Cortland Community College with a 4-0 championship game shutout against Mohawk Valley Community College. The Generals' overall record is 17-1 with a 7-0 record in the Mountain Valley Conference.
