Sarah Foley Named to Green and Gold Club for February 2013

Herkimer County Community College has named two student-athletes to the Green and Gold Club for February 2013.

The Female Athlete of the Month is Sarah Foley, Women's Bowling from Rome. A Criminal Justice: Forensic Investigations major, Foley was named to the Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference 1st Team, was named Region III Player of the Year, Region III Tourney MVP, won Regional Title for singles, doubles and All-Events and made 1st Team All-Region. She then went on to win the National Championship for Doubles, Singles, and All-Event crown earning her the honor of National Bowler of the Year, 1st Team All-American and Tourney MVP. Coach PJ Anadio said, "Sarah has worked so hard on not only her game, but her mental approach as well. I am very proud of her bowling accomplishments but even more for how she has grown as a teammate and a person. Sarah has a very bright future and I'm excited to see her fulfill her aspirations along her future endeavors."

The Male Athlete of the Month is Todd Hunt, Men's Basketball, Cambridge, NY. A Liberal Arts & Sciences: Social Science major, Hunt helped the Generals capture the Mountain Valley Conference for the second year in a row. Coach Matt Lee said, "Todd's defense was really solid all month and set the tone for our team defense. He has been the glue to our team's success. Not only is he a key to our defense, he has the ability to come up with a big shot when we need it. Todd is a great teammate on and off the court."

HCCC's Green and Gold Club honors an outstanding male and female athlete each month.
