Sylvia Ross Competed in the Region III/Northeast District Championship

Herkimer County Community College's men's and women's swimming and diving team was one of 11 teams that participated in The Region III/Northeast District Championship at Monroe Community College. Overall, the women placed third and the men placed eighth.

Individual achievements include:

Sylvia Ross, Holland Patent, The Region III/Northeast District Champion, women's 3 meter diving placing 1st and setting a new school record (11 dives) with a score of 366.15; 2nd place 1 meter diving.

Herkimer County Community College is a unit of the State University of New York, located in Herkimer, NY about 20 miles east of Utica, NY. With an enrollment of approximately 3,600 students, Herkimer offers more than 40 associate degree and certificate programs, on-campus housing, an active co-curricular activities schedule and a national championship athletic program. Herkimer is a Division III member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and has amassed 36 national, 90 regional and 133 conference championships. Herkimer placed third in the 2011-12 National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Cup competition.
